Research interest:
Intestinal immune responses are tightly regulated to allow protective immunity against pathogens while limiting responses to dietary antigens and innocuous microbes. Deranged immune responses to commensals may promote inflammatory conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The goal of the group is to decipher the dialogue between microbiota and immune system in intestinal mucosa both in health and disease. Specifically, we aim to study the signals and mechanisms by which microbiota-reactive CD4 T cells are induced, maintained and modulated.
